  • The dairy industry directly employs around 2,750 people in Western Australia, in both farming and processing.
  • There are 8 dairy factories in the region including milk processing, dairy product manufacturing and milk collection plants.
  • Dairy companies manufacturing product in the region include Challenge Dairy, Fonterra, Harvey Fresh, and National Foods.
  • The estimated value of farmgate production in the region in 2006/07 was $116 million.
  • The value of dairy exports exported from the region is $67 million.
