The Westernport GipRip Project.

This project's autumn program has commenced, with a series of activities on offer for farmers and landholders.

Len and Pam Pratt will host this year’s GipRip River Walk on 20 May, at their Torwood property.

GipRip, which combines group learning activities with opportunities to carry out on ground works, is helping Melbourne Water reach its goal of creating biolinks along all its waterways in both catchments. Melbourne Water River Health Partnership Officer, Gavin Brock, says that GipRip has resulted in several new Stream Frontage Projects to fence off and revegetate significant stretches of streams, creeks and rivers in both catchments. It has also brought forward a major capital works project to tackle the weeds infesting a 2km stretch of Pheasant Creek upstream of Clifton Road.
